Composition Hub

The Composition Hub is a website and online learning platform created in 2020 by Professor Karima Bouziane from Chouaib Doukkali University, El Jadida, Morocco. It was initially developed in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the primary aim of supporting ENCG Business  students in sharing their Business Communication essays as part of class activities and assignments. By providing a digital space for essay submission, peer review, and discussion, the platform enabled students to remain engaged in collaborative learning despite the constraints of remote education. Since its launch, over 80 students have registered, contributing and publishing their essays online.

Over time, The Composition Hub expanded its scope to address broader academic needs, including those of students from the Department of English Studies. It now offers structured digital lessons for Composition I (Semester 2) and Composition II (Semester 3), adapted from classroom instruction into comprehensive course units, PowerPoint modules, and audiovisual summaries. The platform supports the development of various essay types—including descriptive, narrative, expository, and argumentative writing—and introduces key patterns of development, such as cause–effect, comparison–contrast, problem–solution, and definition.

A central feature of the website and platform is its interactive and publishing dimension. Students can upload refined essays, participate in peer review, and use blogging and commenting tools to foster critical dialogue. This approach transforms writing into a collaborative, dynamic activity while providing students with experience in academic publishing within a digital environment. By combining pedagogy, technology, and interaction, The Composition Hub enhances students’ writing skills, confidence, and sense of scholarly responsibility under the guidance of Professor Karima Bouziane.

Composition Hub structure

The Composition Hub is structured to serve two main purposes:

  1. Sharing E-Materials: The platform provides a space where Professor Karima Bouziane develops and uploads digital learning materials, including interactive presentations, course units, and summaries. These resources are designed to support independent study, review, and engagement with course content.
  2. Essay Practice and Publication: The platform offers a space for both Business Studies students and students from the Department of English Studies (Humanities) to practice essay writing. Students can draft, refine, and publish their essays while receiving feedback from the instructor and peers. The platform’s commenting and discussion features allow users to engage critically with the ideas, content, and structure of each essay, fostering collaborative learning and improving writing skills.
